چکیده

In seasonally frozen soil regions, the influence of temperature change on reinforced-soil engineering cannot be ignored. particular, mechanical properties interface have an important impact overall stability and long-term service performance reinforced engineering. To explore characteristics reinforcement mechanism between geogrids coarse-grained under negative temperatures, this paper takes typical in Xinjiang as material carries out a direct shear test reinforcement–soil different normal stresses, water contents temperatures. The curve displacement-shear stress, trend peak stress formation geogrid freezing nonfreezing conditions are thoroughly analyzed. dilatancy is explained by combining Mohr-Coulomb strength criterion apparent friction coefficient. It concluded that state basically same. low has no obvious peak, which closer to ideal elastic-plastic double linear model. high curves more peaks, type elastic-strain softening type. state, great correlation with content, state. main sources difference cementation pore ice skeleton improvement particles themselves, further interlocking effect soil. comparison nonfrozen significantly improved. When 4.5%, decreases 29.98%, 16.17%, 13.83%. 7%, 50.85%, 18.64%, 21.96%. coefficient increasing stress. An experimental study on hydraulic behavior of free-surface radial flow in coarse-grained porous media

The equations of fluids in porous media are very useful in designing the rockfill and diversion dams, gabions, breakwaters and ground water reserves. Researches have been showed that the Forchheimer equation is not sufficient for the analysis of hydraulic behavior of free-surface radial flows; because, in these flows, in addition to the hydraulic gradient and velocity, the variable of radius is...

Effects of Particle Size on the Shear Behavior of Coarse Grained Soils Reinforced with Geogrid

In order to design civil structures that are supported by soils, the shear strength parameters of soils are required. Due to the large particle size of coarse-grained soils, large direct shear tests should be performed. In this study, large direct shear tests on three types of coarse grained soils (4.5 mm, 7.9 mm, and 15.9 mm) were performed to evaluate the effects of particle size on the shear...

Structural Investigation of MscL Gating Using Experimental Data and Coarse Grained MD Simulations

The mechanosensitive channel of large conductance (MscL) has become a model system in which to understand mechanosensation, a process involved in osmoregulation and many other physiological functions. While a high resolution closed state structure is available, details of the open structure and the gating mechanism remain unknown. In this study we combine coarse grained simulations with restrai...
